MissGenki started to be a hobby of mine after living in Japan. I guess I wanted to keep a part of my experience alive forever so I kept their wacky, fun, exciting sense of fashion reminding me of my life once upon a time.
Then hobby became a business in 2011 after recovering from a back operation. When something major happens you think hard about who you are and how you live your life. So in some ways my bad fortune was a blessing in disguise. It made me rethink my life and have goals for when I could stand on my feet and back to normal.
The word "Genki" means "Happy" and I chose it to remind me everyday to fill my life with happiness even if it is to treat myself with an item of jewellery. It was my guilty pleasure to walk around the shops in Tokyo, Japan and pick some fun piece of jewellery, from Dice necklace to paper clip earings. So this is why the jewellery is the piece of Japan I kept and will continue to share it with everyone else with a Love for Japanese fashion or just anyone who likes jewellery.
Fashion is about expressing yourself and having fun hence my concept of jewellery as well as handbags. I hope you enjoy looking at my items of jewellery and if you decide to buy anything you enjoy wearing it. Always remember what it stands for and Be Happy (^_^).
